Dance on St. Urho's Day

Improve your chances of a happy life!

Come dance with the Smilin’ Scandinavians on Friday, March 20 from 7:30-10:00 pm at Naselle School Commons. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Finn-Am Jams under the sponsorship of the Finnish-American Folk Festival.

This dance follows the Naselle Comet Boosters Crab Feed dinner, from 5-7pm, also at the Commons.

This dance honors the Finnish patron “Saint Urho”, whose birthday is March 15. St. Urho drove the grasshoppers out of the vineyards of Finland, so the folklore says. St. Urho encourages dancing and good fun.

A recent long-term study in Scandinavia found three activities stood out as keys to a happy later life. They are camping, singing, and dancing!

Shake off the winter chill and join in—This night it’s possible to not only Eat Your Heart Out—but also to then Dance Your Feet Off!
