The Finnish American Folk Festival of Naselle is pleased to welcome . . .
Agnes Rands Warren
Agnes Lind was born in Shelton, Washington, in 1928, of Swedish-Finn immigrant parents, and lived in logging camps until age eleven. Her family then moved to Anacortes, where she graduated from high school. She received her BA from Linfield College in Oregon and a Fifth-year Degree in Secondary Education from the U of O. Agnes taught high school English until 1986.
Since retiring, Agnes has written and self-published two creative-nonfiction books: Where the Hucklberries Grow about life in the logging camps, and its sequel, Even Seagulls Cry, about life on the home front during WWII.
On Friday she will review both books, read selections from these books, lead a discussion of them, plus give guidelines for writing ones own stories.
