The Finnish-American Folk Festival presents:

Naselle, Washington

The Finnish American Folk Festival of Naselle is pleased to welcome . . .

Jason A. Seivers

Jason A. Seivers is the g-g-g-grandson of John and Helen Luis, Finnish immigrants who homesteaded in Deep River, Washington, in the 1870s.

Since 2000, Jason has been conducting independent research on the history of his pioneer ancestors, including locating and visiting the family farm in Finland in 2005.

He will present the intriguing and unusual story of John and Helen Luis to the public for the first time at this year’s FAFF, including an explanation of how he acquired the cremated remains of Helen Luis in 2006.

Jason currently resides in Cannon Beach, Oregon, with his wife and daughter where he manages an international travel program and is also pursuing a graduate degree in teaching.
